‘Meet the Author’ programme organized

Readers’ Club of the vidyalaya organized a meet the author programme on 3rd of July 2018. Writer Dr. K Sreekumar interacted with the members in the function held at seminar hall. Vidyalaya Principal Sh. P K Chandran presided over the function. Vice Principal Mrs. Sreelekha Sreekumar, K Baburajan (HM I/C), Mr. KV Rajesh, Mrs. Sandhya and Mr. Muhammed Shafi also spoke in the function.



‘Readers Reaching Out’ programme held at Govt. pre metric hostel for ST girls, East Hill

Readers’ Club of Kendriya Vidyalaya No.1 Calicut handed over the books collected under the programme ‘Readers Reaching Out’ to the students of Govt. Pre metric hostel for girls, East hill on 23rd September 2017. Mr. Rajiv Kumar, District tribal development officer inaugurated the function.

Under this programme 450 books were handed over to the inmates of hostel for developing their library. Also the girl students of the Club will visit the hostel once in every two weeks to interact with them and helping the inmates for improving their English language.  Vidyalaya Vice Principal Mrs. Sreelekha Sreekumar handed over the books. Mr. Padmakumar, P T A President presided over the function. Head Master I/C Sh. T.G. Devdas, Project coordinator Mr. Muhammed Shafi V, Mr. KV Rajesh, MR. Manoj Bhaskar, Mr. K. Baburaj, Mr. Gopinath- PTA Secretary,  Mr. Shameer, Tribal Extension Officer also spoke in the function.



Readers Reaching Out…

Hiroshima day observed

Readers’ club members made wonderful posters against  nuclear weapons and displayed on different bulletin boards in the campus. They also made paper cranes to remember Sadako Sasaki and other victims of the Hiroshima & Nagasaki nuclear bombings.

Readers’ club inaugurated



Readers’ Club of the Kendriya Vidyalaya No.1 Calicut was formally inaugurated by eminent science writer Sh. Jeevan Job Thomas. He had addressed the gathering of readers’ club members at Vidyalaya seminar hall. He inspired the students to read more and apply creativity in the whole walks of life. He narrated many inspiring stories and scientifically explained facts behind the success of great men like Albert Einstein and Charlie Chaplin. Principal Sh. P.K Chandran presided over the function. Librarian and Readers’ Club in-Charge Sh. Muhammed Shafi V , Ms. Nalini, Ms. Devi, and Ms. Leelavathy also spoke in the function.
